Hi, Mamas. It’s been a while since I’ve entered the blogosphere, and I wanted to take a minute to say hello to you, oh beautiful tribe. I’ve missed you.
We welcomed our sweet baby Maya to our family this May! We all took time off to celebrate, visit extended family, and get adjusted to our new life as a family of four.
With fall on the horizon and many kids starting their back to school and not back to school routines, I wanted to let you know that I have updated my activities calendar to include a ton of things to do with your little ones. With our move to Poughkeepsie, we have also expanded the scope of our events, so I have updated the name of the calendar from “Beacon Babies” to a more inclusive and expansive Mid-Hudson Kids Calendar. Woohoo. On that calendar you can find all types of awesome activities for your little babies at home, your big kids after school, your homeschooled family anytime, and the whole family on your free time here in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Some new event highlights and some oldies but goodies to be found on the Mid-Hudson Kids Calendar include:
- Parent/Child Creative Movement Class with Chelsea Acree Dance
- Preschool on the Farm at Common Ground Farm
- PLC Preschooler Learning Center Story Time and Guided Play
- Family Swim at Union Avenue Community Center, New Windsor
- Toddler Time at Bounce, Poughkeepsie
- After School Lego Club, Beacon
- UMAC LaGrange Kids Classes
- and so much more
In search of some juicy parenting reading material in all of that spare time? My top two books of the summer have been:
- How to Talk so Little Kids Will Listen
- Transforming the Difficult Child: The Nurtured Heart Approach
I keep a running list of all of my favorite mama books here.
And finally, just in case you missed it, I put together a short list of cool kids’ lunch boxes and water bottles for any mamas in search of some smart snacking solutions for this back to school season. Noah’s favorite combo:
Phew. That was a lot. This is all to say that I miss you all and wish you the best this fall season. Thank you for taking the time to read and share. I’ll be working to add more material and recommendations as I get into the swing of things. If anyone has any events to share or recommendations for the blog, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Peace and Love!
